This is a blog of items up for auction to benefit The Greenhouse. Please take a few minutes to see what interests you. There are three ways to find what you are looking for.

1. Scroll down the page (and continue onto the second page by clicking "older posts") to see and read each item individually.

2. Look immediately to the right and see where each item's title is listed individually under "AUCTION ITEMS BY TYPE." You may then click on the item you want to read more about.

3. Look to the right and a little lower at "AUCTION ITEMS BY NAME" where items are grouped by type. If you click on one of the words, it will pull up all the entries associated with it. Also - there is more than one page of listings - be sure to click "older posts" (at the bottom of the page) to see all of the items up for auction.

To bid on a particular item, click on COMMENTS at the bottom of the individual post. Leave your name, email address and bid amount in the white comment box that will pop up. There are instructions that will also show after you click to comment. Please know that all your personal information will stay hidden and private. Be sure, after you post your comment, that you see a message below the "post comment" button that reads "Your comment will be visible after approval." If you don't see that note, or your bid is not reflected in the BID TO BEAT of the post the next morning, please resubmit your bid by email to auction@the-greenhouse.com. We have had reports of bids not getting through. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The tax-deductible amount of a winning bid is limited to the excess of the amount over the fair market value of the goods or services received.

Each day, the highest bid amount will be updated in the Title section of each individual post. In the last 12 hours of the auction, the bids will be updated every half hour. Please check back often to be sure you have not been out-bid!

Bidding closes at 11:59 p.m. (CDT) on Friday, June 24, 2011.

1 Week Stay at Pufall's Pond (Northern Wisconsin) - BID TO BEAT $350

Rat race getting you down? Escape to Pufall's Pond, in northern Wisconsin, for 1 week.

Pufall's Pond is at the very top of Wisconsin. It's 6 miles from Lake Superior and 15 miles west of Ironwood, MI - Hurley, WI. It takes about 7 1/2 hrs to get there but is a simple drive of mostly 4 lane roads. From the pond there is relatively convenient access to Lake Superior beaches and Saxon Harbor, many waterfalls, the Porcupine Mountains, UP downhill and cross-country ski areas, and Bayfield National Shoreline and Apostle Islands. The pond itself is about 4 acres of wildlife, a couple boats for paddling, and beautiful scenery. There's no phone, iffy cell phone service and no internet or TV. The a-frame home has 3 small bedrooms plus a loft, two bathrooms with showers, laundry alcove, and basement with ping pong table! It's simple and nice but not perfect :). That's Pufall in case you're wondering. Want another opinion? Mention Pufall’s Pond to Jennifer Spacek.

Availability:
Week of July 17-24 (arrive Sunday evening, leave Saturday eve. or Sunday morning)

two weeks in August: 14-20 and 21-27.
Fall and Winter are not scheduled yet, except for the weeks before and after New Year's, so the winner can make suggestions. Both are glorious times up there, especially winter: cross-country and downhill skiing, snowmobiling, snow, snow, snow!

Bid high, because while cell-phone service is iffy, peace, quiet and re-connecting with loved ones is guaranteed.
